When I started my orientation at Disneyland, they told me that I would run into people that I hadn’t seen in 10 or more years. Lo and behold, the first day that I worked at the park, I run into Daily Update reader and longtime friend Mark Woodsmall and his family. I hope they enjoyed their ride on Peter Pan. That was quite a trip to see him there, and I wonder how many people I will recognize, especially as the holiday season draws closer.
My first day was a lot better than I had anticipated. I was really worried about screwing up, but once I got into the rhythm of things it was way fun. I didn’t even mind being in the Pan Console position for the better part of 3 hours. Of course, I contribute it all to my expert trainer Tori – and the fact that I took great notes.
Tuesday was Amanda’s birthday. She turned 21 at Buca de Beppo and earlier in the day managed to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. Kudos to her. The real excitement came when My step-grandmother almost passed out after dinner and had to be taken to the hospital for observation. She’s doing fine, thankfully. She just needs to remember to breathe every now and then.
