Japan October 2004 Day 4: Tokyo DisneySea

Time to head back to Tokyo Disney Resort for our second visit. We decided on our tickets to do Tokyo DisneySea first this trip since it was the last day of the Dramatic Disney Sea celebration where they presented a parade called “Style” (I thought it was “Signs” for the longest time and Daniel still makes fun of me because I had the name wrong). We made sure to check the schedule to see when it was being performed so we could maximize our day.

We started our explorations as we always do by heading to Mysterious Island and Mermaid Lagoon first. Our plan this trip was to hit some of the attractions we skipped last time to make sure that by the end of the trip we had been on every attraction at Tokyo DisneySea (and with some luck the major attractions at TDL). By the time we headed to Arabian Coast, I was reminded just how beautiful and detailed this park is. Just so much to look at.

After riding Sinbad, we stopped to look at one of the new additions to the park, Raging Spirits. Sadly, even if we meet our goal to ride every attraction, we will have attractions to visit on a future trip. Hope it won’t be a long time before we are back in Tokyo. After a loop we ended back up in Mediterranean Harbor to catch the boat cruise around the park. I was happy to get on this attraction as well as get some photos of vantage points I missed last time.

Once we were off the boat, we headed over to American Waterfront to eat at our favorite Cape Cod restaurant and watch Donald’s Boat Builders again. After food, we headed over to where they were building the second new addition to the park, Tower of Terror. It was still a steel skeleton that was maybe halfway up, but still a lot of progress from when it was just a fence back in March.

It was then time to catch the parade “Style”. We managed to watch it from the area near the entrance to American Waterfront from Mediterranean Harbor and we had a great unobstructed view of the parade. The characters were colorful and dressed fanciful. I am still not sure what the parade is actually about, but the music was really good and I hope I can find a CD of it to take home with me. After the parade we wandered over to Mermaid Lagoon for a bit and then headed back to Mediterranean Harbor to watch the Porto Paradiso Water Carnival. I am amazed that this park has such an elaborate parade with water element as well as this water carnival. American Disney parks must be shell shocked. Truly a testament to how amazing this park is.

OMG! I got to meet Bernard from The Rescuers!
and Bianca!! Dreams do come true!!

We ended up the day watching BraviSEAmo! another waterfront nighttime spectacular (last time it was the Disney Sea Symphony). Again, I didn’t really understand what was going on – something about a water thing and fire thing dancing and then combining. Hey, the music was good and there were fireworks out the top of Mt Prometheus so I can’t complain.

It’s been a full day at Tokyo DisneySea and glad that we were able to see some old favorites as well as some new amazing additions to the park. Tomorrow we will be back to go to Tokyo Disneyland and finally see what all the fuss is about the Halloween celebration.
