After a long day yesterday, we decided to sleep in a bit. Today was going to be a repeat of our trip in 2012 when we drove back to home from Redding. This time, we did not stop in Sacramento and kept going back to LA with minimum fuss.
We did make one stop at Wheeler Ridge for dinner and we decided to check out the brand new Outlets at Tejon which seems to be recently completed. A lot of the storefronts were still empty but it was a good way to stretch our legs after being in the car for hours all weekend. I actually used the time to my benefit as dinner didn’t quite agree with me so I made use of the facilities. This turned out to be a big plus as when we got back on the freeway, it was super slow as usual going over the Grapevine back into Los Angeles.
Despite not quite going to plan, I am super happy about finally getting my last county in California – even if it was 6 years after getting my 57th county during the Far North California trip back in 2012. Yay for crazy road trips!
