Japan 2017 Day 7: Tokyo Disneyland

Sunday October 8, 2017

It was time to visit Tokyo Disneyland and we got up early to get to the park as it opened. Our hunt for tickets earlier in the trip had warned us that it was going to be a very busy day at the park and the huge crowds waiting to get into the park confirmed it. National Health and Sports Day was tomorrow, so this weekend would be a busy one at the Resort. Daniel and I have seen crowds before, but the crowds today were legendary – a magnitude I had only heard about. This place was packed and to the point where I was like “woah!”

We decided to focus our day on stuff we had not seen before since the lines were super long. We headed over to see the new Camp Woodchuck Kitchen along the banks of the Rivers of America. This was super cute and they had some fun souvenir with purchase items. Most of our time was spent wandering around the park looking for the not quite so insane lines. We got Leslie on Pooh’s Hunny Hunt which was a big success. Despite the crowding we managed to have a great time. One thing we really wanted to make sure we got to see was the parade “Happiness is Here” again. Daniel and I had seen it when we were here in January 2016 and were eager to see it again. We first caught a glimpse of it while we were hanging out in Tomorrowland, but we made sure we got a great spot to watch the full parade near the entrance to Westernland from the hub – not far from the Diamond Horseshoe. One of my favorite moments was taking a photo of the parade with all of the bubbles around and perfect lighting.

The rest of the day was spent shopping and going on the occasional attraction including Peter Pan and taking some photos around the Resort. We finished the day with the Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade – Dreamlights (it never disappoints). After a last trip on Space Mountain and Monsters Inc and some shopping we headed back to the apartment. Tomorrow its our return to Tokyo Disney Sea!
