It appears that NIMA (National Imagery and Mapping Agency) has found traces of the long lost Mars Polar Lander. How would you like the job of trying to persuade people that three pixels is a lost spacecraft? I wouldn’t mind working in remote sensing or cartography again, but I am not sure I want to sign up for the needle in a haystack department.
It’s Oscar time again. This sunday is the awards ceremony, and once again, my invitation has gone missing. A few years back, I used to publish an e-mail to a select group with my picks for the awards. Friday I will post on the site my picks for the winners and when Monday rolls around we can see how I did.
