Thanks to a generous grant from the state of California, Roger and I have been able to secure a last minute trip to London and Paris. I’ve been to London once and Paris many times, but this will be Roger’s first trip to the continent. Roger’s hotel connections are proving troublesome, but hopefully they will all come together. Just in case, I have Nathan on the case to get us a hotel in Paris. London hotel might be a smidge tougher, but I have confidence that it will fall into place.
The next step is securing our subway (Tube and Metro) passes for our stay so the only thing we have to worry about is what to do when we are there and what to eat. The only thing I know for sure is that we are going to Disneyland Paris on Monday November 11. The reason for that date is that is the last day Phantom Manor will be open for the rest of the time we will be in Paris.
The last time I was in London was in 1996 for the Europe 1996 Trip Diaries which also was the last time I went to Disneyland Paris. The last time I was in Paris was in 1998 (No Nathan that year, he was in New York, the last time I saw him in Paris was 1997).
One cool thing is that with the new Daily Update, I will be able to go to a cyber cafe and post a report without needing FTP or any of that. I will also be able to create a new Trip Diary that will have comments and such!
