June doesn’t wait for anyone!

It’s hard for me to believe it’s nearly the end of June and the halfway point of 2011. Sometimes I think life is passing me by, and before I know it, I will be Grizzly Adams, sitting in a rocking chair outside my cabin in the woods, wondering where the heck time has gone. Other times it feels like you are riding a bucking bronco, having a great time going up and down, and occasionally getting kicked in the teeth.

This month is no different, and offers experiences all over the map! Daniel and I traveled to Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks way back at Memorial Day. It was a fun weekend getaway and I can’t wait for our next one. I took way too many photos, and will post them up when I get a chance. That’s about all the traveling I’ve been able to do lately, and it remains to be seen if I can swing something more elaborate this year.

Work also has been exciting. Never a place to back down from logistic challenges, the Resort managed to host a Pirates premiere, grand openings for the refreshed Star Tours and new Little Mermaid attraction, and Grad Nites. It’s been a fun time, and I am really excited about our new offerings. I can’t say enough about the new Star Tours and how imagineering really created something that really is amazing and special. I like Mermaid as well, and it really makes me feel like I’m in a classic Disney attraction. It reminds me a lot of Tokyo DisneySea as well for some odd reason. For the first time in awhile, I really enjoy the Soundsational parade. I’m not a big parade person, but I love the music! If this summer is this good, it just makes me more excited for next year.

Not only am I excited about what’s happening for the Guests, but also for myself. I’ve been fortunate to have been selected for a position very near and dear to my heart. Can’t really discuss much of it, but I will say I’m very excited for this opportunity! I really feel it’s another step forward for me in my career.

The Trip Diaries are calling to me. I just hope I can figure out what the heck I’m going to do. I am determined to get this decade-old issue solved and ready for future trips!!
