Another visit to Laguna Beach to get out of the house. It’s the first weekend after the Stay at Home was lifted in California and even in the evening when we visited there was a lot of traffic of people leaving the beach. Thankfully it wasn’t so crowded where we were there and didn’t linger.

I signed up for Periscope back in 2015 when it went live. I never used it very often after the first year in China, but it was fun to live broadcast some places I visited. Since Periscope is going away on March 31, I looked into an app called Happs.tv where many Periscope content creators have migrated. I signed up and did a practice broadcast…

Eleventh in the series of the self-isolation media consumption catch up. Our Friday Night series of Horror movies has continued into the new year and here is the mini reviews of each movie since October’s Halloween H20. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) – While this is probably more Sci-Fi/Horror than slasher, I really enjoyed the movie and of course the unforgettable ending which I…

The every now and then traditional New Year’s post of what happened on New Year’s Eve. I can’t believe I have been keeping this list for 3 decades and now going into the 4th!! This year was more eventful than past occasions since for the first time in several years we celebrated with friends – even if it was over Zoom due to the Covid-19…

Tenth in the series of the self-isolation media consumption catch up. When Pluto TV announced that they were bringing a new channel dedicated to the Barker era of The Price is Right on December 1, I couldn’t have been more excited. Classic mid-80’s TPIR is my favorite by far as this is my childhood era when I would watch it during the summer or of…

It’s December here at Club Josh in year zero of Covid. Who knows how long this thing will last now. I feel a bit bad that I have skipped month 7 with a general update, but to be honest, it’s all snowballing and running together faster and faster. Time is measured in cutting fingernails and doing laundry and our weekly movie night. The rest of…

Some astrophotography of the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn taken this evening. The two planets are visible from around 515pm to 7pm over the next couple of nights with tomorrow being their closest position in over 400 years (I read somewhere that 400 years ago it wasn’t visible and the last time it was visible at night was 800 years ago..). Jupiter and its moons…

It’s been a long Covid filled summer filled with smokey, smoggy and sometimes boring clear skies, so it was a nice change of pace to have some decent #cloudporn around SoCal.

Ninth in the series of the self-isolation media consumption catch up. Our Zoom movies have continued over the past couple of months – I am so happy we have committed to the movies each week. Sometimes we rant about what is also happening in the real world, but I do enjoy the movies and the time spent together. For Halloween night we even dressed up.…

20 years ago today, in the height of the Dot Com era, I decided to add a daily weblog to the site to document a year in my life. Originally it was going to be links here and there with links to new stuff on Club Josh and links to other stuff on the Internet. The first few months were fast and furious with regular…
